Making a difference in global health

Ilana Landsberg-Lewis has devoted her career to bettering the lives of women. Ilana is a passionate advocate for human rights. She has worked alongside her father, Stephen Lewis, to found the Stephen Lewis Foundation and has been its Executive Director since its inception in 2003. Ilana recently Executive Produced a moving documentary from the Stephen Lewis Foundation titled ‘African Grandmothers Tribunal: Seeking justice at the frontlines of the AIDS crisis.’ The film shines a light on the urgent need to provide better protection for the human rights of African grandmothers who are the primary caregivers for a large number of children left orphaned and vulnerable by HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
